About the Workshop
Join craftivist Dr. Tal Fitzpatrick and textile artist Melissa Spratt for a hands-on workshop exploring the role of craft in public space. Participants will work together to create a finger-knitted wrap that will become part of the larger public artwork The City Speaks Softly, displayed on street pole banners throughout BLEACH* Festival 2025.
This workshop is accessible, family-friendly, and open to people of all ages and skill levels. It offers a welcoming space to consider how art—and particularly textiles—can be used to foster care, connection, and conversation in the city.
Together, we’ll ask:
If the city could speak, what would it say?
How can we make public space feel softer and more inclusive?
What’s Included
– Guided workshop with both artists
– All materials provided
– Your contribution will become part of a public artwork!
This event is presented by BLEACH* and Experience Gold Coast through the EGC Arts Fund, and supported by @generate_gc.
⚠️ Spaces are limited, so early booking is essential.
